The Sierra Leone Football Association Secretariat has recognised President Babadi Kamara’s election to a senior West African football leadership position with a commemorative presentation at the SLFA offices.
Secretariat staff presented Kamara with a photo frame on Wednesday, September 9, following his election as first vice president of the West African Football Union Zone A (WAFU-A).
Kamara secured the position at the WAFU-A elective congress in Banjul, The Gambia, according to the SLFA Secretariat.
The association described the election as a notable development for Sierra Leone football, with Kamara becoming the first SLFA president to serve in such a senior leadership role at the zonal level.
Deputy General Secretary Ishmail Saidu Kanu, Esq., presented the commemorative gift on behalf of the Secretariat staff and congratulated Kamara on the achievement.
Kanu described the election as a significant milestone for Sierra Leone football and commended Kamara for his leadership and representation of the country within the regional football structure.
Kamara thanked the Secretariat staff for the gesture and recognised their continued efforts toward the development of football in Sierra Leone.
He encouraged the staff to strengthen teamwork, unity and dedication, saying collective effort remains essential to achieving the SLFA’s objectives and advancing football nationally and internationally.
The presentation also served as an opportunity for the Secretariat to mark Kamara’s new regional responsibility, which places him in a senior leadership role within WAFU-A while continuing his responsibilities as SLFA president.
