Myk Berewa, SLPP PRO Mambu Accuse APC of Political Tactics Over JFK’s Conduct
Sahid Bangura State House Director of Communications Myk Berewa and Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) Public Relations Officer Moses Mambu have accused the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) of political theatrics and tactics they say are intended to mobilise supporters and shift blame, following an incident involving opposition figure Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara, popularly known as JFK.
Berewa made the remarks on Friday, October 9, 2026, in a post on his official Facebook page, arguing that Kamara’s conduct was part of a calculated political performance rather than a reflection of his personal character.
“Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara (JFK) isn’t rude by nature I’ve interacted with him countless times,” Berewa wrote, suggesting that the incident was a deliberate political spectacle orchestrated to bring APC supporters along.
Describing the episode as “classic APC politics,” Berewa characterised the performance as carefully choreographed and staged for political effect.
Supporting Berewa’s position, Mambu said the SLPP was prepared to resist what he described as the APC’s violence and victim-blaming tactics, stressing that his party would respond through lawful means.
“Big time, but trust me, this group of SLPP is fully ready for them this time. We will resist their violence and victim blaming tactics by all lawful means necessary,” Mambu stated.
Their comments underscore the political tensions between the two major parties, with Berewa questioning the political motives behind the incident involving Kamara and Mambu warning that the SLPP would oppose what he characterised as attempts to use violence and shift blame.
The available statements did not include a response from the APC or an independent account establishing the circumstances surrounding the incident.
