Angry Youths Block Road in Eastern Freetown Over Abandoned Corpse
Youths in Shell New Road, in the east end of Freetown, have reportedly blocked major roads to draw the attention of authorities to a corpse allegedly left on the street for several days.
According to residents, the body has been lying in the open, emitting a strong odour and raising health and safety concerns in the densely populated community.
In protest, the youths mounted roadblocks, disrupting vehicular movement and calling for urgent action to remove the body.

Residents have appealed to the Freetown City Council, the Ministry of Health and the Sierra Leone Police to intervene promptly, ensure the corpse is removed and arrange for a dignified burial.
The blockade temporarily disrupted the movement of vehicles and pedestrians, leaving some commuters stranded.
