Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) President Babadi Kamara has participated in the oversight of the Guinean Football Federation’s (FEGUIFOOT) Extraordinary Elective General Assembly held in Conakry, Guinea, on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.

Kamara, who also serves as First Vice President of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone A, represented the sub-regional football body at the electoral congress.

According to the SLFA, the assembly concluded with the election of Mamady Doumbouya as President of FEGUIFOOT for a four-year term.

Kamara’s participation highlights Sierra Leone’s involvement in regional football administration and the role of WAFU Zone A in supporting governance processes among its member associations.

The Extraordinary Elective General Assembly brought together football stakeholders to oversee the selection of new leadership for Guinea’s football governing body.

Representing WAFU Zone A, Kamara joined other football officials involved in monitoring the electoral process.

The SLFA described the congress as successful, noting that the election marked an important leadership transition for the Guinean Football Federation.

Kamara’s involvement reflects his responsibilities within WAFU Zone A, which promotes football development, cooperation and governance among member associations in West Africa.

His participation also demonstrates the SLFA’s continued engagement with regional football institutions.

Kamara’s presence at the FEGUIFOOT congress also highlights Sierra Leone’s representation in regional football decision-making.

Through leadership positions within WAFU Zone A and participation in CAF-related assignments, Sierra Leonean football officials continue to contribute to administrative activities beyond the country’s borders.

Such engagements provide opportunities for cooperation among national football associations and the exchange of experience on governance and institutional development.

The SLFA’s involvement in regional activities also reflects its interest in strengthening relationships with neighbouring football federations.

Following the conclusion of the congress, the Sierra Leone Football Association congratulated FEGUIFOOT on what it described as the successful conduct of its Extraordinary Elective General Assembly.

The association also extended its best wishes to the newly elected leadership as it begins its four-year mandate.

The SLFA expressed hope that the new administration would contribute to the continued development of football in Guinea.

Kamara’s participation in the electoral process further underscores the importance of cooperation among West African football governing bodies in promoting institutional stability and effective administration.

The engagement adds to his record of regional football governance assignments since assuming leadership responsibilities within WAFU Zone A.
