13-Year-Old British-Sierra Leonean Opera Singer Malakai Bayoh Secures Spot in Britain’s Got Talent Final
Aaron Parker Malakai Bayoh, a young British singer of Sierra Leonean heritage has secured his place in the Britain’s Got Talent final after Thursday’s live semi-final.
Facing tough competition from Noodle and Tom, Chicken Shed, Kimoon Do, MB14, Boycanto, and Felix Clements, Malakai emerged victorious with the highest number of public votes on the night, guaranteeing his spot in Sunday’s grand final.
In the showdown between Duo Odyssey and MB14, the judges held the power to decide who would progress. Simon Cowell and Alesha Dixon chose MB14, while Amanda Holden and Bruno Tonioli favored Duo Odyssey, resulting in a tie. However, it was Duo Odyssey who received the most public votes, securing their chance to perform again on Sunday.
Both acts were overwhelmed by their success. Malakai expressed his speechlessness, while Max from Duo Odyssey admitted he was so tired that he couldn’t fully grasp what was happening.
Malakai captivated the audience and judges with his emotionally charged aria, bringing Bruno to tears. The newest judge praised him, stating, “You are a gift from God. It’s incredible for a boy like you to produce such a divine sound.”
Simon declared, “God has given you such an amazing talent. You’re not just good, you’re spectacular.”
The 13-year-old prodigy had already earned Simon’s golden buzzer during his audition with a stunning rendition of Pie Jesu.
Meanwhile, Duo Odyssey, the married couple comprising Max and Sophia, set the stage ablaze with their daring aerobatics routine.
Malakai Bayoh and Duo Odyssey will now return for the final, competing against Musa Motha, Amy Lou, Viggo Venn, Olivia Lynes, Ghetto Kids, and Travis George. Each act will vie for the coveted prize of £250,000 and a spot in the annual Royal Variety Performance.
