The Leader of Government Business Parliament, Hon. Mathew Nyuma has successfully chaired the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) Members of Parliament meeting in Brussels, Belgium.

The Sierra Leone parliamentarian chaired the Committee on Social Affairs and the Environment meeting on day two of the 62nd OACPS Assembly.

Speaking to his colleagues, Nyuma reminded them of the significance of the committee in society, adding that one of their focus areas which are road safety has affected several young people through road accidents.

He admonished his peers that it was needful for them to have road safety laws and maintenance of roads.

The organisation is comprised of 79 Member States from Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific, the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) strives to achieve the sustainable development of Member States and their progressive integration into the world economy.

The OACPS is also focused on promoting the efforts of Member States of the OACPS to eradicate poverty, achieve sustainable development, and fully benefit from the advantages of trade, through their gradual and more effective participation in the world economy.
