The International School Limited Secondary and Runner-up, Providence International High School have received their respective prizes on the 7th of June 2023 as winners of the National Debating Competition for Girls 2023 at the assembly session of their respective schools.
Providence International High School, the esteemed runner-up of the championship, was awarded a cash prize of Five Thousand New Leones (NLe5,000) during a ceremony held at their school premises in Somalia Town, Freetown. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and pride as the school celebrated its exceptional performance and contribution to the debating competition.
Following closely, The International School Limited Secondary, the triumphant champions, were presented with a brand-new Dell i5, 9th Generation desktop computer by Marogold Initiative during their school assembly on Jomo Kenyatta Road, Freetown.
Amidst a gathering of their peers, Precious F. M. Kamara and Kijana Morgan, the brilliant representatives of The International School Limited, were honored with a cash prize of Ten Thousand New Leones (NLe10,000) for their outstanding efforts throughout the championship.
The finals, held at the prestigious Radisson Blu Hotel in Freetown on Sunday, 4th June, captivated the audience with its intensity and fierce competition.
The judges were faced with the challenging task of determining the winner, as both Providence International High School and The International School Limited displayed exceptional skills and techniques on the topic “The Gender Equality and Women Empowerment Act 2022 Causes More Harm Than Good For Women”.
