The Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE), Conrad Sacky has revealed that WASSCE results will be released in the next two weeks while BECE results will be out by the end of September.

He made the announcement on 12 September, 2023 during the weekly Press Conference organized by the Ministry of Information and Civic Education at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Conference Room on Tower Hill in Freetown. He made the statement while speaking on the Reopening of Schools and update on the Free Quality Education.

I have engaged WAEC with regards to the releasing of the WASSCE and BECE Results, for WASSCE, I was told it will be released by the end of this week or to mid-next week. For the BECE result, we are anticipating it by the end of this month,” he said.

MBSSE through partnership has secured $ 73.7 million from World Bank, Education Above All and Partnership for Education. The fund is expected to help finance the government’s Free and Quality Education (FQE).

WASSCE is the final examination taken by secondary school students before admission to a tertiary institution.

Over the years, the number of passes has surged pressuring some tertiary institutions to offer entrance exams before admission.
