Sierra Leone’s Special Envoy for Entertainment and Investment, Amara Dennis Turay, widely known as Kao Denero and a prominent figure in the hip-hop music scene, has received a nomination for the Africa Gold Award in the category of Best Male Hip-Hop/Rap Artist.

He is competing alongside notable artists such as Sarkodie from Ghana, Kaligrah Jones, and South Africa’s Nasty C.

Kao Denero is recognized as one of the most successful rappers in Sierra Leone. His accolades include winning the Premier Music Award in 2019 for his hit song “Emonah.” In 2020, he was also nominated for the Africa Rapper of the Year category at the 256 HipHop Awards, further solidifying his reputation in the African music landscape.

Most recently, Kao Denero was honored with the African Entertainment Award for Best Hip-Hop Artist of the Year in 2021.

His latest nomination for the Africa Gold Award is a testament to his enduring influence and talent in the hip-hop genre, and it highlights Sierra Leone’s growing presence in the African music industry.
