Sierra Leonean Afrobeat sensation Nelson Idrissa Kargbo, popularly known as Markmuday, and his wife, Ada, celebrated the first birthday of their son, Jasiel, on August 22, 2026.
The couple marked the milestone from their residence in Riverstone, New South Wales, with the singer taking to social media to share a heartfelt tribute to his youngest child.
Reflecting on the past year, Markmuday described his son’s arrival as one of the family’s greatest blessings.
“Jasiel, you are more than our son. You are our joy, our answered prayer, and a beautiful reminder of God’s goodness in our lives,” Markmuday wrote in the post. “Every moment with you has given us memories we will treasure forever.”
The singer also shared well-wishes on behalf of the family, adding that Jasiel’s older brother, Jayden, is excited to see their bond grow stronger.
The first birthday celebration is the latest major milestone for a couple whose relationship journey has been closely followed by fans and the Sierra Leonean media.
Markmuday and Ada’s romance first made headlines in December 2024 following an extravagant and highly publicized proposal. The engagement sparked widespread social media conversations, largely due to Ada’s prior long-term relationship with fellow Sierra Leonean musician Terror D, who was known to be a close friend of Markmuday.
Despite the public scrutiny regarding their past connections, the couple officially tied the knot in Australia in February 2025. They announced the birth of Jasiel just months later in August 2025, with Markmuday sharing photos from the hospital and giving “All praise to Baba.”
