In the mid-hours of Thursday, 27th February, 2025, the Nassit Ferry MV Bai Bureh experienced an engine failure shortly after departing from Government Wharf at 2:30 PM.
The ferry, which was en route to Lungi Targrin, encountered trouble a few moments after departure, leaving passengers and crew in precarious conditions in the stuck ferry, on the open water.
Authorities reported that rescue boats dispatched to provide assistance to the vessel. The safety of the passengers and crew, as a top priority during the ongoing incident, is yet to be uncovered.

In other updates, the MV Mehera, which had departed from Kissy Ferry Terminal earlier, successfully arrived at Targrin Terminal without incident.
