The incident occurred near the intersection by City Supermarket in Hill Station, a heavily trafficked area in the capital city.
Thick smoke billowed from the vehicle as flames engulfed it, drawing a crowd of onlookers.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing the driver escape the vehicle unharmed before the fire intensified.
