Social media went lose when video footage showed community youths in Pandebu, Tongo Lower Bamabra Chiefdom, when they raided a Police Ghetto in the Police barracks and found a large sum of drugs.
The Police according to the video were allegedly caught red-handed by the youths with Kush and marijuana substances.
It was just days ago that the President of Sierra Leone, President Maada Bio announced a national emergency of illicit drugs that are claiming the lives of young people across the country.
“Our fight against Kush should be a collective effort, which is why I have directed the setting up of a National Task Force on Drugs and Substance Abuse (NaTFDSA), with a particular focus on combating the rising Kush crisis,” President Bio highlighted in his speech.
Citizens are complaining that with everything going on and Sierra Leone making headlines around the world for smoking the bones of remains yet there are still people out here that do not even love themselves not to talk of loving the country they call home.
This dangerous drug has been criticized by government officials and community people also wage a war on the fight. Several videos were also seen where community youths mobilized themselves to capture and torture Kush addicts.
Apart from the speech of the President that stated over 20 bullet points of implementations towards the fight against Kush, the Vice President of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh through the Ministry of Information and Civic Education launched a Town Hall where opposition and government representatives called for bipartisan support and legislative reforms to tackle Kush effectively.
The Leader of the Opposition Hon. Abdul Kargbo and the Deputy Leader of Government Business Hon. Bashiru Sidikie called on everyone to depoliticize the fight against Kush and registered Parliament’s commitment to supporting legislative reforms to enhance the fight against Kush at that Town Hall meeting.
