Justice Sulaiman Bah of the High Court No.2 at the main Law Cout building in Freetown yesterday March 20 2023, discharged Ramex Koroma who had a matter with the state for allegedly stealing twenty thousand United States Dollars ($20,000) vehicle.
According to the report, the discharge came into force, when the state prosecutor, Andrew F Kamara; informed the Court that he intend to take no further evidence before the Court and therefore asked for discharge of the matter.
In the Court hearing on Monday, March 20 2023, at the high Court No.2; the state counsel Andrew F Kamara told the trial judge that, going by the evidence presented and considering the complainant who also doubles as Prosecution Witness One (PWO1) intimate that he does not have to proceed with the matter.
Justice Sulaiman Bah in the absence of the defence counsel discharged the accused Ramez Koroma of all counts of indictment dated 16 August 2021.
The 34-year-old accused Ramez Koroma was standing trial on two counts of criminal charge indictment ranging from Larceny to fraudulent conversion contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.
According to the particulars, the state indictment stated that, the discharged, between 1st June 2016 and 31 August 2016 in Freetown, Stole one Ford Expenditure VS with vehicle registration number AMQ 501. Valued at twenty thousand Dollars ($20,000) property of Patrick Sovie.
On count two, Ramex Koroma was alleged to have fraudulently converted to his use or benefits certain property, including physical cash of nineteen million Leones (Le19,000,000).
Entrusted to him by Patrick Sovie so that the discharged Ramex Koroma might use it to buy vehicle parts.
