Aminata Fullah, a young and vibrant official from Magburaka-Tonkolili District, has broken barriers by becoming the North East Region’s first female FIFA badge referee.

Embarking on her refereeing journey in 2018, Aminata Fullah swiftly climbed the ranks, culminating in her selection as one of the Assistant Referees among the ten unveiled FIFA referees for 2024 by the Sierra Leone Football Association.

Fullah’s remarkable rise can be traced back to her stellar performance in the 2021/22 North East Region Football Association (NERFA) Super Ten competition. Her excellence earned her a well-deserved promotion, allowing her to officiate in the country’s top-tier competitions, including both male and female leagues during the preceding 2022/23 season.

Notably, she took charge of the final of the Southern Arena gala competition, a historic event held at the grand opening ceremony of a 6,000-capacity stadium in May 2023. East End Lions emerged victorious, defeating Bo Rangers FC by a goal to nil, with Aminata Fullah officiating the match.

In the first leg of the 2023/24 Leone Rock Premier League, Aminata Fullah served as a Central Referee in three matches. Additionally, she has been actively officiating various games in the ongoing Women’s Premier League 2023/24 season, further solidifying her position as a trailblazer in Sierra Leonean football refereeing.
