Driver Remanded For Alleged Conversion of Government Vehicle
Salamatu Y. Kamara A driver at the Ministry of Transport and Aviation Ishmael Conteh has been sent on remand at the Male Correctional Center in Freetown by Magistrate Isata Sellu Tucker of the Pademba Road Court No.2 over allegations of fraudulent conversion.
It was alleged that Ishmael Conteh a driver at the Ministry of Transport and Aviation fraudulently converted to his own use and benefit the Ministry’s vehicle.
The police alleged that the incident occurred on September 7th 2023, at Youyi Building in Freetown, where the accused fraudulently converted a white Toyota Hilux vehicle with registration number ARY 371, valued at Le 401,500, to his own use and benefit.
The vehicle was entrusted to him by Dennis Kamara, a senior driver at the Ministry, for the purpose of driving, being the property of the Ministry of Transport and Aviation, Government of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
Magistrate Tucker remanded Ishmael Conteh and adjourned the matter to October 21, 2023, for further hearing. The prosecution is led by S.I Bona.
That is corruption and he must face the law.
