Sierra Leone Police at the Koindu Bendu border crossing point in Kissi Tongi Chiefdom, Kailahun District, in a successful operation on Friday 21st June 2024 arrested two suspected drug traffickers from Foya, Liberia.
The suspects who are identify as Joseph Banya, alias “F1 17” of No. 32 Idrissa Street, Kenema, and Morris Kamara, alias “Okeke,” were apprehended at approximately 3:00 pm on Friday, June 21st, while attempting to smuggle drugs into Sierra Leone.
During the operation, authorities discovered that the pair were in possession of 52 black plastics
Kush, a substance commonly used as a recreational drug. They were reportedly attempting to transport the illegal substances from Liberia into Buedu, Sierra Leone.

The police are working to determine the full extent of the drug trafficking operation and any potential connections to organized crime networks.
