Civil Society Activist Edmond Abu has urged the New Trade Minister Ibrahim Alpha Sesay to look into the tax waivers government is giving out to businesses and the issue about smuggling in the country if he wants to succeed.

He further revealed that smuggling and tax evasion should not be left of the off the hook. He calls for the utilization of University graduates as new trade monitors with specific targets given to them as oppose to the others.
He pointed out that government overtime has been given tax waivers too many businesses but base on Native Consortium position, these taxes don’t reflect on the ordinary man. He calls for the waivers to be looked at, monitored if possible folded .

Minister Sesay holds a double Masters’ degrees. Master Degree in Economics from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom and Master in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of government in America. He is also a Mason Fellow from the Kennedy School of Harvard. TEX also holds a Bachelor of Political Science and Economics degree from Fourah Bay College (FBC), University of Sierra Leone (USL
