On June 24th, 2023, Sierra Leone will be going to the pool to elect politicians to govern the country for the next five years, which has led to different political parties fighting for supremacy.

As the time draws closer, the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) has revealed the list of political candidates for Pujehun district.

Pujehun district is said to be one of the strongholds district of the ruling Sierra Leone People Party (SLPP) in the South of Sierra Leone.

The district over the years is represented by six Members of Parliament in the Sierra Leone Parliament and the June 24th, 2023 parliamentary election will be contested by three political parties which include the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) party, and the Peoples Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC).

Two political parties including the ruling SLPP and main opposition APC will be contesting for the Pujehun District Council position with an independent candidate by the name of Jusu Massaquoi while the Chairperson election is only represented by the SLPP and APC.

 

Candidate for the Chairperson election includes Foday K. Snr Rogers representing the ruling SLPP and Dennis Swaray representing the main opposition APC.
