The Chairman of the East Rural District of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Dr. Edred Tunde Taylor, has donated essential building materials to the stakeholders of Hastings to facilitate the construction of a pavilion at the community field.
During the delivery of the materials, Dr. Taylor expressed his longstanding connection with the Hastings community, referencing his relationship with the late former zonal chairman, who passed away four years ago.
He emphasized his commitment to monitoring the progress of the construction, stating, “I assure you that I will follow the progress of the construction works.”
The District Chairman further praised the ongoing construction efforts, commending the stakeholders for their dedication.
Mrs. Massaquoi, the zonal women’s leader, spoke on behalf of the community, expressing gratitude for Dr. Taylor’s timely contribution.
She assured him that the materials would be used as intended and informed him that the slabbing of the pavilion is scheduled for January 14, 2023.
Dr. Taylor’s donation, which includes 30 bags of cement, three double trips of sand, and cash incentives for the workers, is viewed as a positive step towards supporting President Bio’s infrastructural development initiatives in the western rural district.
The emergence of Dr. Taylor in the political landscape of the East Rural District has been noteworthy. His leadership style transcends social classes, and he is recognized for his proactive approach in political engagement.
