The Government of Sierra Leone, through the Ministry of Health, has commenced the construction of a state-of-the-art faculty building valued at US$3.5 million at the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences (College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences) in Kossoh Town.

The modern complex, designed to accommodate up to 1,500 students per session, will feature five fully equipped laboratories, alongside office spaces for the Dean, Heads of Departments, and academic staff.

According to project details, the facility is expected to be completed by March 2026.

Officials say the initiative represents the first direct government investment in COMAHS infrastructure, marking a significant milestone in the development of medical education in Sierra Leone.

They further stated that the project forms part of broader efforts over the past seven years to strengthen the country’s health and education systems, with the new building expected to play a key role in ongoing sectoral transformation.
