Sierra Leone’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Timothy Musa Kabba, has received the Bishop of the Diocese of Kenema, Henry Aruna, during a courtesy visit at his office in Freetown.

According to the minister, the meeting highlighted shared personal and educational ties, noting that both he and Bishop Aruna are alumni of Holy Trinity Secondary School.

Kabba used the occasion to reflect on the role of the Catholic Church in shaping his early life, particularly in education and values. He acknowledged the influence of his upbringing, including his baptism, while noting that he now practices Islam.

He emphasized Sierra Leone’s long-standing tradition of religious tolerance and coexistence, describing it as a defining strength of the nation.

“Our nation is blessed with a heart that comfortably accommodates religious diversity. May peace continue to reign in our communities,” the minister stated.

The meeting underscored the importance of interfaith understanding and unity, as leaders from different religious backgrounds continue to promote peace and social cohesion across the country.
