Some residents of Kenema township have heaped praise on President Julius Maada Bio for constructing roads in the town.

The residents were responding to the newly constructed asphalt streets and roads by PAVI FORT.

The company is rounding up construction on two streets in the town namely Koroma and Jenneh Streets as part of the 35 kilometres of tarmac road contract signed in 2020.

At one point in time, residents in the town complained about the slow pace of work and how it had been affecting their health due to dust pollution.

However, many residents in the town have expressed their delight recently as the company finishes small portions of the road that were part of the agreement.

Kenema Town is the third largest urban centre in Sierra Leone after Freetown and Bo. The District has been a stronghold of the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) and they have received considerable developments including a boost in energy supply in the town and some surrounding villages over the years since President Bio came to power.
