The Kono Union USA Inc. and Sierra Leonean Diaspora have made donation of medical supplies to the Koidu Government Hospital as a means of assisting the people in the district.

The Kono Union USA Inc. worked in partnership with Sierra Leone As One (SLAO) to deliver a significant donation of medical supplies and vital healthcare facilities within the district.

This came as a means of recognizing the pressing challenges faced by people in the district and the initiative aims to build the hope in the people and boost their health status.

Kono Union USA Inc., a diaspora organization based in the United States, and SLAO, a non-profit organization representing various Sierra Leonean associations in the Washington DC area, stand united in their mission to advance the welfare of their homeland. With a shared vision of a better Sierra Leone, these organizations have joined forces to uplift communities in need, exemplifying the spirit of unity and solidarity.

Speaking on behalf of Kono Union USA Inc., Mrs. Isatta Sangba expressed profound delight in contributing millions of dollars worth of essential medical supplies to their fellow Kono communities. Emphasizing their commitment to societal well-being, she underscored the organization’s obligation to alleviate suffering and save lives. As stewards of Kono District, they embrace the responsibility to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.

Jacob Kamanda, the District Logistics Officer, conveyed heartfelt gratitude to Kono Union USA Inc. and Mrs. Isatta Sangba for their generous donation. Accepting the medical supplies on behalf of the District Health Management Team, he lauded their unwavering dedication to the betterment of Kono District.
