43-year-old Salifu Kamara made his first appearance on Friday 3 June 2022, before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on a count of obtaining money by false pretense contrary to section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the particulars of offense, on diverse dates between 3rd July 2018 and 10th July 2021 at No.2 Main Motor road The cha Wilberforce, Freetown, with intent to defraud obtained the sum of four thousand united State dollars equivalent to forty-five million Leones(45,000,000) and the sum of eighteen million Leones(18,000,000) all to the total accused sum of sixty-three million Leones(63,000,000) from Mohamed Kamara by falsely pretending that he will facilitate his travel to Germany.

The charge was read and explained to the accused person but no plea was taken. There is no legal representation for the accused person.

Magistrate Kekura refused bail and sent the accused person on remand to the Male Correctional Center in Freetown and adjourned the matter for further hearing. Inspector Kadie M Taylor is prosecuting the matter.
