The National Investment Board (NIB) has acknowledged receipt of an urgent application filed under Section 185(4) of the Companies Act, 2009, concerning the Sierra Leone Bar Association (SLBA) and its failure to hold a mandatory Annual General Meeting (AGM).
In a statement addressing the matter, the Board confirmed that it received a formal application dated 2nd June 2026 from Ebunoluwa Finda Tengbe, Esq., a member in good standing and fully paid-up subscriber of the SLBA.
The application raises concerns following the SLBA Executive’s Notice of Indefinite Postponement issued on 14 June 2026. The Board noted that it considers the postponement as a possible cancellation of the Annual General Meeting, which had been formally scheduled to take place on the 5th and 6th of June 2026 in Lungi, Port Loko District.
According to the application, the failure to proceed with the AGM as scheduled may constitute a default under the Companies Act, 2009, thereby prompting a request for regulatory intervention.
The matter remains under consideration by the National Investment Board.
