Two Women Reportedly Arrested in Waterloo During Same-Sex Marriage Ceremony
Salamatu Y. Kamara The Sierra Leone Police reportedly arrested two women on Friday, September 12, 2025, in Waterloo for allegedly engaging in a same-sex marriage ceremony.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 4:00 PM in the New London, Mango Farm community, where residents were reportedly shocked to witness the ceremony.
The women have been identified as Massah Mansaray and Jannet, with Jannet reportedly assuming the role traditionally associated with a man.
Word of the event quickly spread, drawing large crowds and sparking intense discussions among community members. Concerned residents alerted authorities, and the pair were escorted to the Corner Kick Police Post for questioning and further investigation.
The incident has generated mixed reactions within the community, with many describing it as unprecedented. Authorities are currently handling the matter in accordance with local laws.
Thank to the sierra Leone police for the proactive by the grace of Allah the laws of these countries will not allow that.

If two women want to get married, let them. I wish this energy were given to corrupt politicians, kush/drug dealers, and actual criminals running the country.
