The Regional Police Commander East, Mr. Andrew M. Kamara on the 13th of February 2023 called on his team to be assertive in protecting the lives and properties of citizens.

He made this call in the Regional Tasking and Coordinating Group meeting held at his Regional Office in the Kenema Police Station.

Kamara expressed total satisfaction with the ways in which the SLP has minimized the crime rate in Kenema district and the eastern region at large. He maintain that policing is teamwork that takes everyone else efforts to enhance coherent goals.

He also reminded them of the most trending national election, which, he said, was a national assignment and must be treated with the ultimate sincere efforts.

The Regional Commander further implored all, excluding the Integrated Intelligence Services (IIS), to at most have a pair of uniforms, irrespective of their units or departments, noting that police presence must be felt during this period and that has to be professionally done keeping in mind the primary aim of the police force.

the Local Unit Commander of the Kenema Division, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mohamed Morie Kamara disclosed that the burial ceremony for one of the First Lady’s bodyguards was successfully policed by personnel of his division.

He noted that all hands were on deck for that operation, which made it one of the most successful operations in his Division, adding that will be maintained at all times.

On covering the 2023 elections, the commanders made commitment on contributing strategies to use effective policing in Kenema district and its environs during and after the period.
