A team from the Pujehun District Council, led by the newly transferred Chief Administrator, Joseph T. Gando, visited the family of the late Honourable Shelk Suabu, former Chairman of the Pujehun District Council, who passed away on December 15, 2024. Gando, who recently assumed office after transferring from Kenema City, was accompanied by several council officials to pay their respects.

Honourable Suabu, a widely respected leader elected during the 2018 general elections, served as Chairman for four years before his appointment as Commissioner for Lands under the administration of His Excellency, retired Brigadier Julius Maada Bio. His passing has left a significant void in the district.

The delegation included Mrs. Tianga Palmer, the Acting Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson of the council; Deputy Chief Administrator Mr. Gogra; Finance Officer Mr. Kain; Councillor Mohamed Puma; and Madam Lucy Coker, the Devolved Sector Head for Agriculture.

The team visited Bandajuma Sowa, the late Chairman’s hometown, to convey their condolences to his family and present a donation to support them during this difficult time. The donation comprised Le 5,000, a bag of onions, three bags of rice, five gallons of vegetable oil, and five gallons of palm oil.

The family expressed heartfelt gratitude to the council officials for their kind gesture and unwavering support. The visit symbolized the council’s solidarity and commitment to honoring the memory of Honourable Suabu while supporting his family during their bereavement.
