Former Skye Bank Manager’s Trial Set For Ruling
Mohamed Foday Conteh Justice Adrian Fisher is set to rule on an application filed by lawyer representing former Skye Sierra Leone Limited manager, Ikubolaje Nicol.
Lawyer Roland Wright applied for a Supreme Court interpretation after State Counsel, Ahmed Bockarie applied for Nicol to be tried by judge alone rather than by judge and jury.
Nicol was arrested on the 23rd November 2022 after police suspected him in the murder of 26-year-old banker Sinnah Kai Kargbo.
Nicol has since denied the allegations against him but the preliminary investigation at the Pademba Road Magistrate Court proved otherwise as the matter was committed to the High Court.
The former bank manager made his first appearance before Justice Ivan Sesay earlier in May 2023 during the Criminal Session.
Again, Nicol pleaded not guilty to all three count charges to the crime when put to the dock.
The State alleged that Nicol conspired with other unknown persons at Leicester Village to murder Kargbo between the 15th and 16th of October 2022.
Nicol has been on remand at the Pademba Road Correctional Centre since the Preliminary Investigation at the lower court.
