The ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) has offered a petition against the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) in the just concluded Bye-Election in Constituency 056, Tonkolili District.

The petition was tendered to the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone (ECSL), questioning the credibility of the elections at some polling centers around kalanthuba Area.

The petitioners, Jayah Kallon and Mohamed Orman Bangura, who are the National Young Generation Leaders in the district alleged that there where falsification of SLPP party agents, and not allowing SLPP party agents at some polling stations.

They further alleged that there were double voting by APC supporters, which according to them lead to elections malpractices.

The Regional Commissioner, ECSL, AbuBakarr Koroma after referencing the petition assured them that they will look into the allegations and come out with their results.

Meanwhile, provisional results have been announced in that part of the district, with APC topping SLPP.
