In a message marking World Teachers’ Day, UNICEF highlighted the important role teachers play beyond the classroom, noting that they inspire curiosity, build confidence, nurture talents and create safe spaces where children can thrive.
The organisation commended teachers across Sierra Leone for their dedication, patience and commitment to upholding every child’s right to education.
UNICEF said the work of teachers has a lasting impact on children and their communities, stressing that their efforts contribute significantly to shaping the future of young people.
