48 New Mpox Cases Confirmed as Total Surpasses 3,000

The Government of Sierra Leone has reported 48 new confirmed cases of Mpox in its latest health update, bringing the cumulative total to 3,059 cases since the outbreak began.

The report, released on Saturday, May 24, 2025 also recorded no new recovery, signaling the severity of Mpox disease in the country.

The recent report futher confirmed a total of 14 deaths, and 1,360 active cases since the phase of the outbreak disease.

While the update did not specify district-level breakdowns for the new cases, previous reports highlighted the Western Rural and Western Urban areas as the most affected areas.
