The All People’s Congress (APC) has rescheduled its outstanding Ward and Constituency Elections from Saturday, September 12, to Tuesday, September 15, 2026, citing unresolved petitions arising from the electoral process.
The party announced the change in a public notice issued by its National Secretariat on Friday, September 11, 2026.
According to the notice, several petitions arising from the electoral process were initially considered by the Independent Elections Complaints Board (IECB) before being referred to the Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC).
The PPRC is finalising its decisions on the outstanding petitions, so the APC has postponed the affected elections to ensure the matters are resolved.
The party said the additional time will allow the relevant decisions from the PPRC to be taken into account before the remaining elections are conducted.
“Accordingly, all outstanding Constituency Elections shall now be conducted on Tuesday, 15th September 2026, together with all remaining outstanding Ward Elections,” the notice stated.
The rescheduling affects all outstanding Ward and Constituency Elections that remain to be conducted under the party’s ongoing lower-level electoral process.
The APC has asked all aspirants, delegates, party members, election officials, and other stakeholders involved in the affected elections to note the new date and make the necessary arrangements.
The party also expressed appreciation for the patience, understanding and cooperation of its members as it works towards completing the outstanding elections.
The National Secretariat said the objective remains to ensure an orderly, transparent, peaceful and credible conclusion of the lower-level electoral process.
The notice was issued and signed at the APC headquarters, We Yone House, 11A Old Railway Line, Freetown, on September 11, 2026.
