President Julius Maada Bio has received the letters of credence from Jamaica’s High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, His Excellency Lincoln George Downer, during a formal ceremony held at State House in Freetown.
High Commissioner Downer, who is based in Abuja, Nigeria, presented his credentials to officially commence his diplomatic assignment in Sierra Leone.

During the ceremony, President Bio highlighted the longstanding historical and cultural ties between Sierra Leone and Jamaica, emphasising the shared heritage that continues to unite the two countries despite their geographical distance.
The President expressed optimism about the future of bilateral relations and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including enhancing connectivity and promoting collaboration between the two nations.

The presentation of credentials formally recognises High Commissioner Downer as Jamaica’s diplomatic representative to Sierra Leone and underscores both countries’ commitment to deepening their longstanding relationship.
