President Dr. Julius Maada Bio, alongside his wife, First Lady Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, has touched down at the Gambia International Airport, marking their attendance at the 15th OIC Banjul Summit scheduled for May 4-5, 2024.

The summit’s overarching theme, “Enhancing Unity and Solidarity Through Dialogue for Sustainable Development,” emphasizes the critical role of collaborative dialogue in driving lasting progress.

The summit aims to harness the power of dialogue as a strategic instrument to address pressing issues and advance sustainable development initiatives. With roots dating back to its establishment in 1969, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) stands as a beacon of unity, comprising 57 nations with Muslim-majority populations.

The OIC’s primary mission revolves around fostering solidarity and cooperation among its member states to tackle a diverse array of political, economic, social, and cultural challenges within the Muslim world.

As leaders from across the OIC member states converge in Banjul, the stage is set for constructive dialogue and collaborative action towards a more prosperous and unified future.
