UK Deputy High Commissioner Celebrates With Government Model Old Pupils In London
Salamatu Y. Kamara Deputy High Commissioner of the United Kingdom, Mrs Yvonne King Odigboh, joined members of the Government Model Old Pupils’ Association UK & Ireland (MOPA UK&I) for their 3rd Annual Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Walworth Methodist Church in London.
Held under the theme “Arise and Shine,” based on Isaiah 60:1, the service brought together former pupils, members and well-wishers to give thanks for God’s guidance, protection and blessings on the school and its alumni.
King Odigboh, who serves as the Association’s Distinguished Grand Chief Patron, delivered the Gospel reading from Isaiah 60:1–5 and joined members in reflecting on fellowship, service and giving back to the institution.
The occasion also coincided with the eve of the Deputy High Commissioner’s birthday. Members marked the occasion by presenting her with a birthday cake as a gesture of appreciation and affection.
The Thanksgiving Service highlighted the association’s commitment to faith, fellowship and service, while reaffirming its support for Government Model School and its continued development.
The celebration concluded with members expressing appreciation to King Odigboh for her support and involvement in the association’s activities.
