The Court of Appeal has announced that it will hear the appeal case of Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray versus the State on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 10:00 am.

The proceedings will take place at the Law Courts Building in Freetown.

The notice of the hearing has been officially served to both the State and the legal representatives of the accused, Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray, ahead of the scheduled date.

Mansaray, a prominent political figure and leader of the opposition Alliance Democratic Party (ADP), was convicted in 2021 on charges of sexual penetration of a minor. The case attracted significant media attention, partly because of Mansaray’s status as a public figure. He was sentenced to a lengthy prison term following the conviction.

Mansaray’s legal team filed an appeal, arguing for the overturning of the conviction. This upcoming hearing marks an important stage in the case, as the Court of Appeal will review the facts and arguments presented by both sides.
