The information at the desk of the Kenema district police unit is that four young individuals residing in the district have been found dead in the early morning hours on the 4th October, 2021.

The Criminal Investigations Department of the Kenema Police Division received report from Alpha Koroma of Kamara town in Kenema District accompanied by Ibrahim Konneh of the same address that on Sunday 3rd October 2021 at 204 Dama Road, Kenema discovered Sheku Konneh, Abdulai Lukullay, Lahai Brima and Emmanuel Mansaray dead of generator suffocation at the same address.

According to Sergeant Brima J. Musa of the Community Relation Department of the Kenema Police Division, police upon receipt of the information immediately dispersed a team of police officers headed by the Operations Officer minor Inspector Konneh who collected and conveyed the corpses to the government hospital Kenema for postmortem examination.

He said the crime scene was later visited by a team of detectives including the scene of crime officer attached to the Kenema police Division and took photographs.

He disclosed that the team discovered at the crime scene the victims were locked up in a store (shop) with a generator on. He added that the four individuals were watching a football match while the generator was placed inside the shop.

Sergeant Brima J. Musa revealed that Sheku Konneh, Abdulai Lukullay and Lahai Brima are students whilst Emmanuel Mansaray is a building contractor.

He said after the postmortem examination, it was ascertained that the four people died as a result excessive intake of carbon monoxide from the fume of the generator.
