The Native Consortium wishes every Sierra Leonean Consumer seasons greetings and a blissful 2023 particularly the President and his Government , our sector agencies like the PRA, NATCOM, Ministry of Enviroment, Min of Finance our Parliament, our media partners, colleague CSOs, our Legal Team, Justice Adrian Fisher & Chief Justice, Political Parties, Oil Marketers, Mobile Network Operators (MNOs); May the happiness of the season follow us and wish you all long life in 2023.

We wish to inform the general public that after 5 years of delay on court verdict, Justice Adrian Fisher has slated January 10, 2023 (1/10/2023) for final judgement. We want to again remind NATCOM and the MNOs to wait for the Jan 10, 2023 final judgment. If NATCOM or any MNO dare increase voice tariff on the Sierra Leonean before January 10 2023 (J10).such entity will be guilty of contempt of court. The 1st Plaintiff (NCRC) wishes to implore NATCOM that no one is above the law. Respect for the rule of law and order is very cardinal in any civilized democratic society like ours.

We want to remind every consumer to regularise his/her ORANGE or AFRIMONY to tally with your name for likely compensation if we win according to the relief we sought in our pleadings.

On the 23/12/22 the International Court in the Hague gave judgement after 15 years of legal battle in favor of a poor community in Nigeria with a compensation of €15 million (Euros) against the global Oil Giant SHELL company Ltd. The Court found SHELL guilty of oil spillage that cause environmental pollution for natives of the Community. The compensation shall be given to the community of 7,000 poor people and the case was pursued by a Human Rights group name Friends of the Earth. Abundant kudos to them!

What a special lifetime Christmas mew yers present for the poor community in Nigeria whose internal justice systems did not give them justice they had to go to the international court. J10 is our odacity of hope; we are hoping against hope. It’s likely that our court will grant us a belated Christmas and new years present. It could be recalled that in April 2021, Justice Adrian Fisher ordered ORANGE & AFRICELL to pay the plaintiffs Le 100 Million (Old Leones) over an interlocutory motion filed by our Lawyers.

However, if at all we lose the case or we win but we don’t get at least half of the relief sought for, then the Native Consortium is all set to frog-match NATCOM, ORANGE & AFRICELL to the ECOWAS Court or the International Court of Justice in The Hague.
The Consortium strongly believes that justice maybe delayed but one day it must be served no matter how long it takes.

END

Signed..Edmond Abu
