First Lady Fatima Maada Bio on Thursday attended the wedding ceremony of Alhaji Idriss Kamara and Fatmata Kargbo at the Hamdala Mosque in Freetown.
During the ceremony, First Lady Bio expressed her pride in the bride, stating, “I’m happy because I know where my sister has come from, and I know where she is today. If there’s anyone who is proud of you, I want you to know that I am proud of you. And if there’s anyone who truly deserves what you’re celebrating today, it’s you. You deserve this.”
She offered the newlyweds marital advice, emphasizing the importance of mutual love and respect. Specifically addressing the bride, she said, “That is your duty as a wife. If you don’t praise your husband, if you don’t make him feel like a king, who else will do it for you? That is your responsibility. Go and keep your home safe. Make your home the kind of home you dream of. Only you can make that happen.”
The First Lady also advised the couple to resolve disagreements privately and urged the bride to cherish her husband, saying, “Today, God has blessed you with a very handsome husband you can call your own. They say, “May God give you your own husband rather than borrowing another woman’s husband.” Today, you have your own. Hold on to him. Protect him. Defend him.”
First Lady Bio concluded her remarks by congratulating the couple and extending her blessings for their marriage.
