Sierra Leone Government Investigates Allegations of Convicted Drug Dealer in Country
Deborah Sorie The Government of Sierra Leone has today issued a statement addressing recent media reports alleging the presence of Jos Leijdekkers, a convicted drug felon and one of Europe’s most wanted individuals, within the country.
The reports claim that Leijdekkers was seen in photographs taken during events attended by President Julius Maada Bio and his family.
In response, the Government has stated that:
The President was unaware of Leijdekkers’ identity or the allegations surrounding him.1 During the festive season, the President attended numerous events where photographs were taken with many attendees.
No formal communication has been received from any country or institution regarding Leijdekkers.
A thorough investigation is underway to establish the facts surrounding the allegations, including Leijdekkers’ identity and alleged activities in Sierra Leone.
The Sierra Leone Police is ready to collaborate with the Dutch Government, Interpol, and other international law enforcement agencies.
The Government of Sierra Leone reiterated its commitment to combating transnational crime, including drug trafficking, and emphasized that the country will not become a safe haven for organized crime.

For me Sierra Leone Government is too myopic. How long Adebayor have been causing mehem (trouble) in this country but residing in Holand. What did Holand Government or interpol do? Nothing. SLG should reply them of not seeing the said person. How did he escape them in the first place?

Dutch government had not yet make an any official statement to the government of Sierra Leone about this alleged drug lord, it only some of the opposition politician & supportes are on social media shouting about the issues for sake of politic. If the government of Holland had aware of one of there convicted drug lord is leaving in Sierra Leone , it time to ask the Sierra Leone government to extradite the criminal with the exchange of Adebayor that caused lot of incitement that had clams many lives to internity in this country.
We await the outcome of the investigation into the cocaine found in the truck of the SL embassy in Guinea. Who is the second person?
Now to the Jos saga:1. what is the relationship, if any, of Jos to the daughter of the President? 2. Was Jos in Bonthe at the New Year’s celebration? If so, who invited him there? We demand clear answers, not this vague and evasive press release.

Perhaps the GOSL doesn’t recognize the name Jos Leijdekkers. Maybe they will recognize the name, Omar Sheriff?
