The Government of Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education, has announced the launching of the country’s Students’ Loan scheme (Sloan-SL).
The event, according to the announcement, is scheduled for tomorrow, October 31st, at the Bintumani Conference Hall in Freetown.
The scheme, is part of the government’s efforts to providing sustainable financing access to higher education.
It is to cater for less privileged Sierra Leoneans pursuing courses in institutions accredited by the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC).
A very nice one. Bravo to Government of Sierra Leone!
It is a good initiative for the country if there is no politics behind the scene because if it is for the less privilege but some of this politician will take this opportunity for their children also so the less privilege people will not benefit it again. Please sierraloaded iam a concern citizen and also I am a student that want to pursue my school to the university of sierra Leone but there is one issue that i want you people to pull a write up the issue is that Usl said for someone to do an undergraduate course you should have five credit including math and credit in English but now this they said they would not accept c6 in some course so therefore when we apply some of us our portal says departmental required not met we want this to be clearify please
How can I be part of?
Sounds pretty good
This is great news for some of us who are facing too many financial difficulties in universities.
We need a laptop,no money.
We need to buy textbooks,no money.
We need to do research,no internet.
Data very expensive now.
We need some decent clothes,no money.
And all of this. But if this scheme goes as said, at least it will be a stepping stone for some of us. But just pray that it becomes accessable by us. The government may have a genuine intention, but the people in those capacity to make sure it gets to the right people, will start making huge money out of it by selling it to the rich. But I pray this one be monitored by the people in charge(God-fearing people), and not thieves.
God bless Sierra Leone!
These are the things we want to start seeing in sierra Leone today
Ohhh rich people and politicians, please I’m bagging you in the name of God almighty please leave this opportunity for the less privilege please
Ohh
Ohh rich people and politicians please give us this opportunity don’t take it from us for your own children I’m bagging you in the name God almighty
I want to join the line to applaud government for this brave decision/initiative. I pray that targeted beneficiaries will get access to it and also allow this program to be free from politics tribe, region, religion etc
