The University of Sierra Leone has announced the appointment of Professor Lawrence Kamara as the Acting Vice-Chancellor and Principal. This decision, conveyed through an official letter from the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education dated 11th December 2023, marks a significant change in leadership at the institution.

Professor Lawrence Kamara steps into this role following the tenure of Professor Foday Sahr, who has been appointed as the Executive Director of the newly established National Public Health Agency. The university expressed gratitude to Professor Sahr for his dedicated service during his term as Vice-Chancellor and Principal

The official letter from the university reads: “I write to inform you that Professor Lawrence Kamara has been appointed Acting Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of Sierra Leone.” It further extends congratulations to Professor Kamara on his new appointment and wishes him a successful tenure steering the university.
