Missing Groom Found Dead in Moyamba District Hours Before Wedding
Kanja Sesay A 31-year-old man, Augustine Bayoh, has reportedly been found dead in Tiama, Moyamba District, on Friday, November 6, 2026, after he failed to arrive for his engagement ceremony.
According to accounts of the incident, Bayoh told his fiancée that morning that he was going for prayers. When he did not return, she tried calling him several times but received no answer.
The couple were supposed to get married on Saturday, November 7.
His fiancée was later informed that he had died by suspected suicide. The cause of death remains unconfirmed, and authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
The news has reportedly left the family and community in Tiama in deep distress. The timing of the tragedy, just a day before the planned engagement ceremony, has compounded the grief for those who had been preparing to celebrate the union.
