AIG Sahr Yomba Senesi has officially been named the Deputy Inspector General of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP).

Previously the Director of Training, Senesi takes on the new role at a time when the SLP is looking to strengthen its leadership and improve its operations.

The appointment, in line with Section 157(2) of Sierra Leone’s Constitution, comes as part of the ongoing effort to build a more effective police force. Senesi’s background in training and his leadership within the SLP give him the experience needed to make an impact on the police’s day-to-day work.

For years, Senesi has been in charge of police training, shaping the development of officers across the country. His new position is expected to help push forward efforts to modernize the police force, ensuring that officers are better equipped to handle the challenges they face in keeping Sierra Leone safe.

Many within the police force are already looking to Senesi’s leadership for guidance on improving both professionalism and effectiveness. His appointment has also sparked hope that, with his experience, the SLP will continue to evolve and be better prepared for the future.
