Samura Kamara Honors Police CID Invitation Over Electoral Justice Claims

Dr. Samura Kamara, the 2023 Presidential Candidate of the All-People’s Congress (APC) party, today honored an invitation from the Cyber Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at Pademba Road, Freetown.

The invitation was confirmed during a police press conference held on February 5, 2025, at the Police Headquarters. Deputy Spokesman of the Sierra Leone Police, ASP Mohamed Senu, stated that Dr. Kamara’s legal team had communicated his intention to cooperate with the investigation.

In a letter addressed to Dr. Samura Kamara, the Cyber Unit at the Criminal Investigations Department invited him to respond to the issues raised against him.

“The Cyber Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department, Headquarters, Pademba Road Freetown has compiled series of audios and videos on various locations bordering on electoral justice. In one of the videos, you were seen referred to as President elect of Sierra Leone waiting to assume the reins of power. You were also seen making statements in these videos endorsing you being the President elect of Sierra Leone”

The Director of Operations, AIG Dr. John Martin Senesie, said the police have the right to invite anybody if they see anything roaming around which concerns the people and security.

He Further stated that the security situation in the country is calm and quiet, adding that they are always on their toes to provide the required security for the people.

“Deployment of personnel in strategic areas remains intact,” AIG Seneris said, adding that they will identify some areas to either reduce or add the checkpoints.

He said Finally commented on the transition process of the Sierra Leone Force to that of Service.

“We are working hard to transition from the Force to Service, by identifying five key areas in the four years Strategic Development Plan 2025 – 2029.’’
