Since its establishment in 2020, the One Stop Centre has been a safe haven for Sexual and Gender Based Violence victims. the center provides all the necessary support to ease victims’ distress, provide them medication, and pursue their case.

To continue supporting the work of the center, today, 24 March, Save the Children donated over $13,500 worth of dignitary kits and stationeries to the One Stop Centre at King Harmann Road Hospital. This donation is the second in 6 months.

The kits will help the center to give first aid treatment to victims and the stationeries for administration.
Hannah Lahai, Centre Manager, said these items will ease the burden on the centre and will help the centre to quickly respond to victims when they come for treatment.

She said on average seven victims visit the centre daily. “Sometimes when victims come to the centre, they barely do have anything proper on them. In that case, we may need to support them with proper first aid treatment for free, because the centre operates free for all, she said.
“It will be traumatizing for a victim to come to us and we ask them to go and find clothes, slippers or sanitary pads for their own care.

“With these items, the centre will be more equipped to take care of victims and victims will in turn have the trust and confidence to recommend it to any other victim.
Madam Lahai thanked Save the Children for providing such items that will enable the centre to continue providing adequate support to Sexual and Gender Based Violence Victims.
