Sierra Leone 2023 BECE Results to Announced on Friday – Education Minister Sackey
Deborah Sorie Sierra Leone’s Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, Conrad Sackey, has officially communicated that the much-anticipated Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) 2023 results will be announced on Friday, October 27, 2023.
The BECE, overseen by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), is taken by third-year Junior High School students. This examination serves dual purposes: determining eligibility for senior secondary education and certifying junior secondary education completion.
Earlier in July and August, 130,857 students sat for the 2023 BECE in Sierra Leone, with a breakdown of 63,750 (48.72%) males and 67,107 (51.28%) females.
While there might be a slight delay at the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) in dispatching the results to individual schools, candidates can promptly access their scores online or via the MBSSE SMS result checker.
Students and their families can also tune to the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) at 1:00 PM to hear the results.
This announcement, made through a Facebook post by Minister Sackey, has been met with eagerness from both students and parents who have been awaiting the results with bated breath. This marks a significant moment in the academic calendar, setting the course for many students’ educational futures.
