Sierra Leone has kicked off a planned nationwide campaign for the distribution of protected bed nets to citizens in the country.

The campaign is to distribute five million treated bed nets to help protect individuals and households from malaria and other illnesses. The Launch was done by the Deputy Minister of Health 2 Jalikatu Mustapha.

They noted that, the distributions would take place within all districts of the country, led by the Ministry of Health and Sanitation with support from the U.S. Government through USAID Sierra Leone in partnership with Global Fund.

These all part of the dream and plans of making the health sector a much more preventable as well as working for the best interest of the people.

It is noted that, Malaria still continues to pose challenges to pregnant women and children.
